The 20-yard roll-off is the sweet spot for most residential and mid-sized commercial projects. It offers double the capacity of our 10-yard bin while still fitting comfortably in a standard residential driveway.
A 20-yard dumpster holds 20 cubic yards of waste, which is roughly equivalent to 6-8 pickup truck loads. With walls that are 50 inches high, it's tall enough to hold bulky furniture and large debris, but still low enough to easily toss bags and materials over the side. It also features a swinging back door, allowing you to walk heavy items right inside.

Everything you need to know about renting our 20-yard roll-off container on Oahu.
In most cases, yes. The 20-yard dumpster is 18 feet long and 7.5 feet wide, making it about the size of a standard minivan or large SUV. It typically fits easily in a standard two-car driveway. However, please ensure there are no low-hanging branches or power lines above the drop-off spot, as our trucks need 15 feet of vertical clearance to safely roll the container off the bed. If you have a steep or narrow driveway, please mention it when booking so our dispatch team can plan accordingly.
Yes, our 20-yard dumpsters feature a swinging rear door. This allows you to walk heavy items, like furniture, large branches, or wheelbarrows full of debris directly into the dumpster, rather than having to lift everything over the 50-inch side walls. We recommend loading the heaviest items first through the door and placing them toward the front of the bin to evenly distribute the weight for transport.
By law, dumpsters cannot be filled above the top rim. If debris is piled higher than the rim, our drivers cannot safely tarp and transport the load on Hawaiian highways. You will be required to remove the excess material, and a $65 standby fee per 30 minutes may apply while the driver waits, or a trip fee if we have to return later. Additionally, if the weight exceeds 12 tons, a surcharge of $180/ton applies. To avoid this, break down large items to maximize space.
While our drivers are highly trained to place dumpsters carefully, roll-off containers are heavy metal objects. We highly encourage customers to place plywood or similar protective material on the driveway where the dumpster's wheels and rails will rest. Waste Worx is not liable for damages to driveways, sidewalks, or underground utilities. Taking a few minutes to lay down wood can prevent costly concrete repairs.
No. A 20-yard dumpster is too large for heavy materials like dirt, concrete, rock, or asphalt. Filling a bin this size with heavy debris would instantly exceed the legal weight limit of our trucks and the road. If you have heavy materials, you must rent a 10-yard dumpster. If heavy materials are found in a 20-yard bin, you may face severe overweight fees or the load may be rejected entirely until it is manually unloaded.
